Helping people on the spectrum navigate the world around them
Every person has the right to make friends and build deeper connections with others. Some people struggle with developing the skills to do this effectively, especially those on the autism spectrum.
Spectrum Quest encourages young autistic & neurodiverse people to develop greater confidence in social and communication skills through evidence-based, face-to-face, group table-top role-playing game sessions.

We are based in Melbourne, Victoria and currently offer games in Coburg North and Box Hill, on Mondays and Wednesdays.

WHAT ARE TT-RPGS?

Table Top Role Playing Games

In a Table-Top Role Playing Game (TT-RPG) participants use their imagination and creativity to design unique fictional characters, while the Game Master (who runs the game) designs and/or describes the world these characters come to life in.

The Game Master presents challenges for the players to face, playing as their characters, and sets quests for them to achieve together. A story develops as the participants tell the Game Master what actions their character takes in response: if the task faced is difficult, then dice are rolled to determine the outcome which the Game Master then narrates!

Participants use and build on their imagination, social skills and interaction, team-formation, empathy for other players and their characters, mental-world building, fantasy play and story-telling. Spectrum Quest runs TT-RPG programs face-to-face or in person for the best outcomes for players.

SPECTRUM QUEST

Our Impact

  • “Thanks for an amazing program, seeing the kids develop their world and have experiences in it is so great.

I also appreciate the personal touch, responsiveness to challenges, and willingness to have difficult conversations so the group works.

”[My child] has developed his group responsiveness (speaking & listening, expressing himself, and conflict resolution) and planning skills...so good to see you hold such considered space that is fun, creates relationships and develops kids’ skills through play.”

    Libby, Sept 2024

  • “There’s a lot more to this than just gaming.

Luke coaches the participants through some really difficult and complex behaviours and attitudes, helping them learn to negotiate situations that they will encounter throughout their daily lives.”

    Michael, Nov 2024
